Press release from the Peoria County Government: As COVID-19 metrics for our region continue to trend in a positive direction, Peoria County will reopen facilities to the public on Monday, January 25. Many departments have been operating remotely or on an appointment-only basis since November 20, 2020. "While many of our departments were able to innovate and find alternative ways to deliver services to our residents over the past year, we also understand that sometimes a face-to-face interaction is needed or wanted," said Scott Sorrel, Peoria County Administrator. "We are glad to be able to welcome the public back into our buildings again." Peoria County Animal Protection Services (PCAPS) has reopened to the public on a limited basis, but walk-ins are discouraged. Please call ahead to make an appointment. Peoria City/County Health Department will reopen on a limited basis, but walk-ins are discouraged. Please call ahead to make an appointment. Those entering a Peoria County facility are asked to wear a face mask while in the building, to complete a short survey regarding COVID-19 symptomology, and to practice social distancing. Please keep in mind that many departments have developed alternative means to an in-person interaction to assist the public with their County business.
