MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester Police responded to Porter St for a report of an accident and a gunshot on Thursday. When officers arrived on the scene, they located an unoccupied, black Subaru Legacy with front end damage. The driver was located at another Porter Street residence. Police determined that the driver had been traveling south on Porter Street when her vehicle struck an unoccupied parked car. As the driver of the Subaru attempted to reverse, the owner of the parked car, identified as Zachary Caruso, 33, of Goffstown, came outside. "The driver started to drive away and Caruso fired a single gunshot at the rear of her vehicle," police said. "The bullet hit the back window and traveled through the vehicle, exiting out the front windshield and just missing the driver." Caruso was arrested and charged with felony attempted first-degree assault and is scheduled for arraignment in Hillsborough County Superior Court North. It is unknown if the woman was charged with leaving the scene of an accident or any other charges.
