LA GRANGE, IL — A man who refused to leave La Grange's Stone Avenue train station ended up getting arrested, police said. About 2 p.m. Jan. 11, Gregory Basgall, 52, who has no known address, was arrested on charges of battery, resisting arrest and assault, according to a police report. He got into a confrontation with officers after he refused their request to leave the station, police said. The only other recent arrest in La Grange was of Andres Rodriguez, 47, of Melrose Park, police said. An officer stopped Rodriguez Sunday afternoon after seeing Rodriguez let his car drift into a different lane and slam on his brakes to avoid an accident, according to a police report. After he was stopped, officers determined he had never been issued a driver's license, police said. He was charged with no valid driver's license, following too closely, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured vehicle. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
