LIVERMORE, CA — Firefighters rescued four people in unincorporated Alameda County after a crash along eastbound Interstate Highway 580.
The crash was reported near Livermore Wednesday in the area of I-580, west of Grant Line Road near the Stonecut Underpass, according to the Alameda County Fire Department. The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department also responded to aid in the rescue.
Firefighters needed 300 feet of rope to rescue the car wrecked below, according to Alameda County Fire. They attached their ropes to the overpass then traversed down the rocky, steep embankment to rescue to car's occupants.
Three people suffered traumatic injuries.
