UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — There was no bigger news on Wednesday than the Inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as the President and Vice President of the United States. Upper West Siders joined Americans across the country huddled around their TVs watching the proceedings in Washington D.C. At points during the ceremony, Upper West Siders let out cheers that filled up the outside space, yelling out and banging on objects in celebration of the new president and vice president. "Finally! Congratulations to our President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris! Today we can once again bask in the hope of a brighter future," Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer tweeted. "This morning is a monumental testament to the strength of our democracy, and America can finally start to Build Back Better." Upper West Side Assembly Member Linda Rosenthal added a little humor to her comment on the proceedings, tweeting out — "One eviction I can get behind. #ByeDon" While congress member, and Upper West Side Rep. Jerry Nadler, focused his message on moving forward. "Congratulations to our new POTUS Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris. America has taken a mighty step forward today," Nadler tweeted. "To every American who exercised their right to vote and made their voice heard, thank you. This victory — and the progress we will achieve with it — is yours."
