Experience Nature with all your senses. Guided 3.9 mile loop hike that includes mindfulness meditative practices and journaling. Join Heal with Sole guide, Julie, on Saturday, January 30th at 8:30 am (Check-in at 8:15 am) for a Saturday Sole Hike in Norvin Green State Forest in Bloomingdale, NJ. The selected trail is suitable for intermediate level of hikers. Hike will be conducted rain or shine. Refunds available. General trail info: Chikahoki Falls via Highlands, Post Brook, and Carris Hill Trail is a 3.9 mile (total) loop trek. Selected path has been modified to allow for mindfulness practices and meditation. Elevation gain is 994 ft, with two scenic points of Chikahoki Falls and Scenic Overlook at Carris Hill. Note: we will promptly begin at 8:30 am. Please ensure to arrive early for check-in at 8:15 am. IMPORTANT: Read our COVID-19 Safety Guidelines-HealwithSole Hiking is at your own risk. Please make sure to dress appropriately for the weather (base layers are important!) and wear high-cut hiking boots (that will support your ankles). Trail conditions will be confirmed by email prior to event date. Why trek with Heal with Sole? Heal with Sole approaches hiking as a somatic experience--an experience to engage the senses. Our goal is to help youth and adults explore their presence in Nature, and to confidently engage their 5 senses across mind, body and spirit. Each sole hike includes breathing and mindfulness rest points as well as a 20 minute meditation toward the final leg of our trailing. Our name is Heal with Sole because healing (or growing) is best done on our feet, in action. Hiking, like personal growth, is not a passive activity. It requires full presence, preparation, awareness, patience, endurance, and confidence in our own abilities to live life consciously.
