GREENFIELD, WI — A majority of Wisconsin's fall colors have yet to emerge, yet people's attentions are already turning to the next holiday — Halloween. Given the uncertainty around social gathering amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this year's trick-or-treat will undoubtedly look different from years' past. On Tuesday, the Greenfield Common Council carried a motion to hold trick-or-treat on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. During Tuesday's meeting, Greenfield officials also stipulated the following: Participating households should turn porch lights on.Masks are recommended for trick-or-treaters, guardians and households giving away candy.Social distancing recommendations should be followed. The Hershey candy company set up the website Halloween 2020, and published an interactive map showing each county's COVID-19 risk in real-time. According to Halloween 2020, families in Racine, Kenosha, Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties should participate in Halloween in the following ways to ensure COVID-19 safety: Trick or Treat in Reverse Costume WeekNeighborhood Candy Hunt Neighborhood Pub Crawl (for grown-ups)Outdoor Movie Night
