15 Milwaukee County Nursing Homes Investigated For COVID-19

MILWAUKEE, WI — A total of 52 long-term care facilities in Milwaukee County have active COVID-19 outbreak investigations as of this week, state health officials said. According to Wisconsin Department of Health Services data updated on Wednesday, there are a total of 130 COVID-19 investigations in Milwaukee County. State officials say there are 52 active investigations at long-term care facilities, 38 at workplaces, and nine at other locations. A number of investigations have been closed. Of the 52 long-term care facilities with active investigations, 15 are for nursing homes. A single confirmed case initiates a facility-wide public health investigation at long-term care facilities. According to DHS data, there are 15 active nursing home investigations. Those locations are: Alexian Village of MilwaukeeBedrockCameo Care Center - Autumn Lake Healthcare at GreenfieldEdenbrook LakesideFranciscan VillaHeritage Square Health Care CenterIgnite Medical ResortJewish Home and Care CenterLuther ManorLutheran Home for the AgingMaple Ridge Health and Rehabilitation CenterSunrise Care CenterSympony of Glendale Nursing HomeVilla at Bradley EstatesWillowcrest Health ServicesFacility-wide and outbreak investigations are considered closed when two maximum incubation periods have passed since the last possible exposure to a COVID-19 case in the facility without any new cases, state officials said. For COVID-19, two maximum incubation periods are 28 days Two or more confirmed cases initiates a facility-wide public health investigation in group housing facilities, health care facilities, workplaces and other settings.
