Description

Greenfield Police Department released their plan to patrol the neighborhood of Wauwatosa Police Officer Joseph Mensah. A decision will be announced Wednesday regarding the fatal shooting involving now suspended Officer Mensah. The Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office will determine if Mensah will face criminal charges in the death of 17-year-old Alvin Cole. In a letter, the Greenfield Police Department alerted residents to additional patrols, blockades, and parking restrictions. It's an effort they described as "prevention" measures to protect the community. District Attorney John Chisholm will share his decision on the Mensah case Wednesday. Mensah has been involved in the shooting deaths of three people of color in the last five years. He appealed his suspension last month. Mensah was suspended with pay in July. In August, The Wauwatosa Police and Fire Commission voted unanimously to move forward with pre-hearing scheduling deadlines on the pending charges filed against the officer.
