Crystal Mountain Opens For Spring Skiing On Monday

MOUNT RAINIER, WA — One of Washington's most popular ski resorts will reopen with limited capacity, beginning Monday, June 1. Crystal Mountain will welcome back skiers and snowboarders, only with online reservations, including those who have an Ikon Pass or other pre-paid tickets. The resort's announcement follows updated guidelines for outdoor recreation released by the governor earlier this week. According to Crystal, the Mt. Rainier Gondola and the Green Valley Express chairlift will run daily between June 1 and June 14, weather permitting. Reservations can be made each day, starting at 2 p.m. on May 30, and will be limited to four people per group among members of the same household. Gondolas can be reserved in hourly timeslots between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Visitors who arrive at the resort without a reservation, including season pass holders, will not be allowed on the mountain. For those without a season pass or other pre-paid tickets, day-use tickets will cost $59 and are non-refundable. Skiers and snowboarders are asked to arrive at a mandatory checkpoint no more than 30 minutes before their reservation begins. Indoor facilities remain closed, and only "grab-n-go" food options will be available for purchase. Restrooms will be cleaned on an hourly basis, and gondola cabins will be sanitized between each use. Staff will perform deep cleans of high-use areas every night.
