Description
1967 World Book Encyclopedias, very kid oriented. You could construct an entire curriculum yourself! Compare what was the state of knowledge then with what we know now (hint, dinosaurs were very different!). Already have encyclopedias? Compare those with these ... why are the articles different? Were they aimed at different age groups? How do "Britannica" articles talk about American history vs. "World Book"? How does using an encyclopedia differ from looking things up on Google? How has the world changed since 1967 ? What were people thinking then about what now would be like? What were they looking forward to? What were they worried about? How many AKC recognized breeds of dogs were there in 1967? Neat map overlays, kid friendly features like science experiments in the "Chemistry" article... a great base camp for exploring the modern world. Also just fun to browse on lazy hot summer days for a book-loving kid. Call Laura @ (360) 802-5172
