EDMONDS, WA — Hundreds were without power Monday afternoon after trees fell onto powerlines near Edmonds. Police said both directions of Highway 99 were closed near 228th Street Southwest just after 1:30 p.m. According to Snohomish County PUD, almost 1,400 customers were affected by the outage. An estimated time for restoration was not immediately available. Edmonds police said crews from SnoPUD were already on scene and working to restore power, and officers from Mountlake Terrace responded to assist with traffic control.
