Florida Surgeon General Dr. Scott Rivkees has urged the federal government to rethink its distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine so that states with large populations of seniors who are at high-risk are given priority.
Florida has 4.4 million residents who are at least 65 years old — the second-highest of any state.
As it stands, the federal government is distributing vaccines based on a state's adult population.
