MIDDLETOWN, CT — (Contributed): WIHS 104.9 FM General Manager Steve Tuzeneu recently honored Program Manager and On Air Host Ron Gangwer for 20 years of service. An Enfield resident, Gangwer grew up in Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Vermont. After graduating from Pensacola Christian College with a Bachelor's Degree in Bible and Education, he served as a sixth-grade teacher and then school administrator at a Christian academy in Massachusetts. He joined the staff of the commercial-free, listener-supported, non-profit Christian radio station in February of 2001. Operated by Connecticut Radio Fellowship, the call letters W-I-H-S stand for We're In His Service. Staffed by more than 20 full- and part-time employees, the "live and local" station has provided listeners with daily hope and encouragement since 1969.
