AUSTIN, TX — Much activity has been stilled or slowed in light of the coronavirus, but the Austin Community College District remains a hotbed of activity in the interest of furthering residents' educations. Registration is in full swing, with opportunities for discounts on fast-track careers. Myriad events are scheduled at the college district from Nov. 23-29: Austin Community College is closed for Thanksgiving. The college district will close in observance of Thanksgiving on Thursday through Sunday. The college will reopen 8 a.m. Monday (Nov. 30). Spring registration continues over the break. Spring registration: Spring registration is open for all students. The college offers more than 100 programs from associate and bachelor's degrees to university transfer and fast-track certificate options. The spring term begins Tuesday, Jan. 19. Austin Community College offers a 50 percent tuition discount for a series of fast-track training programs in the highest-demand sectors in the region, including healthcare, IT, and skilled trades.
