AUSTIN, TX — The driver who died after crashing into a tree in North Austin last Tuesday. The incident occurred along the 2400 block of Scofield Ridge Parkway at around 12:40 p.m., according to a police advisory. The driver of a silver, 2015 Ford Taurus traveling eastbound let the roadway for an unknown reason before striking a tree, police wrote. Police said the driver, 34-year-old Mona Monique Ramon, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Police urged anyone with information on this case to call detectives at (512) 974-6873. At the time in 2019, police added, there were 87 traffic fatalities.
