Celebrate MLK Day With Austin Artist Appreciation Broadcast

AUSTIN, TX—To commemorate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., and in observance of MLK Day, The Vortex and The Butterfly Bar will host an Artist Appreciation Broadcast to lift up and celebrate the many talents of BIPOC artists. The one-night only event will be live-streamed with the broadcast available via the following links: Facebook.com/VORTEXrep; Facebook.com/thebutterflybaraustin; youtu.be/GLpYHapoubA; twitch.tv/vortexrep. Scheduled Monday, Jan. 18 at 8 p.m., the broadcast highlights the continued struggle for justice and equity, and will spotlight the artist population and the challenges they face amid the pandemic. All donations to the broadcast will be directed to the artists involved, and any other donations made to The Vortex through its website during the broadcast will be sent to the Austin Justice Coalition.
