Wanted: connections to volunteer knitters! Do you know any local knitting groups or knitters who might be interested in either a one-time or ongoing service project? I know multiple local nursing facilities that are interested in "twiddle muffs" for dementia patients (soft, warm fidget tool muffs with strings and buttons and attachments). My grandma has been knitting them and could use help meeting local demand. Several Ithaca nursing homes and hospitals would love large numbers to distribute to elderly patients to give them something warm and comforting to hold, calming mental stimulation.
