Description
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The temporary outdoor dining parklets in Manhattan Beach could become permanent fixtures as City Council takes a look at the concept during a joint council meeting tonight. The agendized item will be discussed tonight [Wednesday, Jan. 20] at a joint meeting of the Manhattan Beach City Council, Planning Commission and Parking and Public Improvements Commission. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. and is available via the usual channels a city council meeting is.
At its December 3, 2020 meeting, the Parking and Public Improvements Commission identified permanent outdoor dining parklets as something the city council should consider. The agenda item reads:
"Outdoor Dining Parklet Program - The PPIC is recommending the development of a program to construct and manage permanent outdoor dining locations within the public right-of-way. The Public Realm and Infrastructure chapters of the Downtown Specific Plan would serve as references in the development of the design. This item can be incorporated into an existing City Council Work Plan item for Downtown and North End Beautification."
The full agenda for tonight's joint council meeting can be found online. To learn more about how to access the meeting online or how to make ecomment or comments during the meeting, visit this page on the City of Manhattan Beach website.
