Press release from the Long Beach Unified School District: January 21, 2021 PHOTO: NAACP GIFT CARD DRIVE – From left, Long Beach NAACP President Naomi Rainey-Pierson and Superintendent's Student Advisory Committee co-chairs Megan Lane and Maya Bryson attend the 2020 Santa Visit and Holiday Gift Card Drive hosted by the Long Beach Branch NAACP. The Long Beach Branch NAACP recently delivered 350 Target gift cards valued at $20 each to LBUSD students during its Holiday Gift Card Drive. Long Beach NAACP President Naomi Rainey-Pierson was greeted and thanked for the organization's donation at Roosevelt Elementary School by Superintendent's Student Advisory Committee co-chairs Megan Lane and Maya Bryson. Superintendent Jill Baker and Assistant Superintendent Brian Moskovitz also joined the two student representatives in accepting the donation. Thanks to donors, the organization surpassed its goal of 300 gift cards for elementary students. The additional cards were distributed to students at Child Development Centers and at Muir and Cabrillo schools. This press release was produced by the Long Beach Unified School District.
