GLEN ELLYN, IL — A food and blood drive is planned for Jan. 21 at Ackerman Sports and Fitness Complex in Glen Ellyn. The event will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Residents can click the link to sign up for a blood drive appointment. The following items are sought to benefit Glen Ellyn Food Pantry: Peanut butter and jelly White or brown rice Pasta Canned tuna Tomato sauce and tomato paste Canned vegetables and canned fruitApplesauce Granola bars Cooking oil Flour Cookies Sugar (1- or 2-pound bags)Dried and canned beans Canned ravioliSpaghettio's Canned soup Coffee (1-pound cans and instant) Black or green tea Cold cereal Ketchup and mustard RelishMayonnaise Macaroni and cheese Dish and bar soap Diapers and baby wipes Toilet paper Liquid laundry detergentToothpaste Deodorant ShampooWhat: Food and blood drive Where: Ackerman Sports and Fitness Complex, 800 St. Charles Rd., Glen Ellyn When: Jan. 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Patch has partnered with Feeding America to help raise awareness on behalf of the millions of Americans facing hunger. Feeding America, which supports 200 food banks across the country, estimates that in 2020, more than 54 million Americans will not have enough nutritious food to eat due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
