PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Eagles have reportedly found themselves a new head coach in 39-year-old Nick Sirianni, the offensive coordinator of the Indianapolis Colts. The news, first reported by ESPN and then several other outlets Thursday afternoon, comes just over a week after the Birds announced they'd let go Super Bowl champion Doug Pederson following a disappointing 2020 season. RELATED: Eagles Fire Head Coach Doug Pederson Sirianni saw great success leading one of strongest offensive attacks in the AFC with the Colts in 2020. The Colts finished with an 11-5 record under his watch, scoring 451 points. Sirianni also spent three years as an assistant with the Kansas City Chiefs, and five with the San Diego Chargers. Philadelphia will be his first head coaching gig. He was one of multiple rumored candidates, including former Eagle Duce Staley and New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. Sirianni will become one of the youngest head coaches in the NFL, but not the youngest (Los Angeles' Sean McVay is 34). The news comes after a brutal season for the Birds, which saw them underperform expectations and finish last in the NFC East. They'll hope Sirianni can help them turn the page into 2021. This is a breaking story. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
