CHICAGO — Starting Monday, city residents 65 and older and essential workers including first responders, teachers, grocery clerks, transit workers and corrections employees will be eligible to receive coronavirus vaccines, officials said. City of Chicago Folks interested in getting vaccinated will be required to make appointments. Currently, the process for inoculating the next group of people in line will take weeks due to limited vaccine supply, Chicago's top doctor Dr. Alison Arwady said Thursday. Currently, the city gets enough vaccine for 1-out-of-20 people eligible to receive it. Most people will be eligible to receive the vaccine from their health care provider. Others who fit the criteria for the next round of inoculations can sign up to get the shots from community health centers; pharmacies, the city's mass vaccination sites and their employers.
