Crews from Phoenix, Tempe and Scottsdale were called to a blaze at a single-story residential home near McDowell and Hayden Roads just before 3 a.m. Scottsdale, Tempe, and Phoenix fire departments responded to a single story residential structure fire early this morning. After an initial search and rescue for occupants, firefighters went defensive and quickly extinguished the fire. 1/2 #WeCareForYou pic.twitter.com/RQRyFKseJs— Scottsdale Fire Department (@ScottsdaleFire) January 21, 2021 The Scottsdale Fire Department said firefighters had some difficulty getting into the house due to the amount of items inside, which is why so many crews were called in to assist. Scottsdale Fire said that the three adults living in the house escaped unharmed, but their dog did not make it out. There is too much damage for the residents to return to the home, according to officials. No firefighters were injured on the job and no other houses were affected.
