Eliot is offering an exciting opportunity to join a newly formed team of Mental Health professionals operating in the Lowell area. The ideal individual will join us in starting up and providing a high level of care for a new 9 bed Respite residential program for adults with persistent & severe mental illness. Eliot's seeking a BA Level direct care staff with two years experience working with adults with serious and persistent mental illnesses. This person will provide support to residents in skill development. Our ideal candidate will have the skills to establish supportive relationships and the ability to develop and maintain clear and therapeutic boundaries. Responsibilities: Assist consumers in skill developmentCollaborate and develop IAP’s (Individualized Action Plans) with consumers and other staff when appropriateAssist with community integrationProvide medication administrationSupport activities in the communityDevelop short term goals with consumers to assist with integration into the community. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work or related fieldAt least two years of experience with adults with mental illness who may be homeless, may have significant legal issues, may be transitional age, may be elders, may have problematic sexual behaviors, may have histories of violence, may not be taking medication and may be in crisis.Ability to develop and maintain clear and therapeutic boundaries. Must have ability to provide flexible services that are community based and focused on team work.Must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation.Computer literacy and skill in the use of computers and related software applications.Ability to consistently meet all necessary background and credentialing requirements.
