Rehoming Australian Shepard Mix

Description

I am rehoming my 4 year old Australian Shepard mix Benji. I am rehoming him because unfortunately with a new born, full time job, and other obligations, I just do not have the time to give him the attention he needs. Australian Shepard’s were bred for herding which means he will need a lot of exercise. He loves to play fetch, run around outside, and walk on the leash. He is not crate trained, however we have him confined to the kitchen with baby gates when needed and he has done well with that. He also does not do well in the car. He gets really anxious and will try to jump up front to be with you if he can. We found out last summer that Benji has a severe flea allergy (flea allergy dermatitis) and will need to be on medicine year round. We currently give him simparica the last day of each month and that has worked great on him. Benji is up to date on all shots (I can provide records if you’d like) and he was neutered as a puppy. He does shed and his hair will grow too, I typically take him to the groomer once every 6 months or so for a hair cut and shampoo. Benji has not been continuously around young children, but when he has been he reacted well, I cannot say how he would act with full time children around. We are charging a $300 rehoming fee. I will provide the next two months of flea medication and any extra food we have w/ his dishes.
