TEMECULA, CA — Last week, the City of Temecula announced it had partnered with Covid Clinic, Inc. to temporarily provide drive-thru screening to residents at three different city parking lot locations. At the time of the announcement, dates and hours of operation were only available for one of the COVID-19 testing sites. The initial testing site at Margarita Recreation Center, 29119 Margarita Road, began operating Friday. The site is operating every other day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Appointments are required. Birdsall Sports Park, 32380 Deer Hollow Way, and Temecula Community Center, 28816 Pujol Street. Both sites have hours of operation similar to the Margarita Recreation Center location, and appointments are required. Click here to make an appointment. Testing at the three sites is free and available to anyone with or without COVID-19 symptoms. The COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) diagnostic test (with laboratory results in a few days) is being offered. The clinics are offering other COVID-19 tests that require payment upfront, including rapid results testing at a cost outlined on the Covid Clinic website. "Providing easy access to COVID-19 testing is critical to assist in efforts to contain and mitigate the current COVID-19 surge impacting our local hospitals. It will help to inform people who test positive to quarantine or isolate themselves to prevent further transmission," said Temecula Mayor Maryann Edwards. "We are proud to partner with Covid Clinic to bring additional testing sites to convenient locations throughout the city, at least until the impact to our regional healthcare system subsides."
