LOS GATOS, CA — A Los Gatos museum announced it has opened submissions for its annual exhibit featuring the work of Santa Clara County high school students.
New Museum Los Gatos' ArtNow program is an annual juried Santa Clara County high school art exhibition and educational program. The program is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
The theme for this year's exhibition is "Good Trouble," the phrase popularized by the late Congressman and civil rights champion John Lewis.
"Congressman Lewis calls all of us to make good and necessary trouble by showing up, standing up, and challenging ourselves and our communities to be better humans to and for all humankind," the museum wrote on its Facebook page.
"Each new program year we are inspired by the caliber of artwork submissions and the thoughtfulness of the accompanying artist statements."
Participating students will compete for $10,000 in scholarships and awards.
The program is open to all Santa Clara County high school students whether they're attending public or private schools or are homeschooled.
The deadline for submissions is Jan. 31 at midnight.
The exhibition will be open March 19 to May 9. Exhibiting artists will be announced Feb. 12.
The submission form can be viewed here.
