SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, CA — A man who was fatally shot in San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood on Jan. 7 was identified. The city's Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as 37-year-old Kelvin Wilkerson, a Benicia resident. Officers found Wilkerson near the corner of Eddy and Mason streets, where he was pronounced dead. Days after the shooting, investigators identified 41-year-old James George as a suspect. Last week, police found George, an Antioch resident, near Seventh and Market streets in San Francisco. George was taken into custody on suspicion of homicide, being a felon in possession of a firearm, assault with a deadly weapon and battery, according to police. The suspect remains in custody and was set to be arraigned Tuesday, according to jail records. Bay City News contributed to this report.
