Description

The VSC will resume its Grand Victorian Ball (If COVID restrictions persist we'll sub Moonlit Victorian Concert / box dinner again ) The 2021 VSC Grand Ball will feature live music and dancing of the Victorian era (1831-1901). All dances will be taught by Dance Historian, Sharon Guli and no prior experience is needed. Children: See Minor-Children-at-Grand-Ball Policy below before buying tickets for anyone under 16. Historic attire is encouraged but not required, modern dressy is a fine alternative. Bring a camera, you will want to photograph this event! A professional green screen photographer will also be available to take your photograph with castles and other exciting backgrounds! This year's intermission will highlight Prince Albert's Great (international industry) Exhibition of 1851. England had had Exhibitions before but they were national. Victoria's husband, Albert, expanded it to include other countries of the world earning the title "The Great" Exhibition. If you desire to piggyback on this theme feel free to come in Victorian attire that represents Victorian industry and professions through their era which ended in 1901. Additionally we include the Edwardian period, which was the brief reign of Victoria's son Edward, "Birdie", which ended in 1910. Also always welcome... tuxes, riverboat gamblers, gentile ladies in hoops and bustles, preachers, doc Holiday, family-friendly steam punk, civil war military and more. etc. Printing your ticket is OPTIONAL and will not be needed at the door. Your name will be on the Guest List at check in. Sales at the door depend on ticket availability and we have sold out before and there were NO ticket sales at the door. Reserve your tickets in advance but remember No refunds after September 1, 2021 unless the pandemic requires a change of venue, then you will have an option to convert to the alternative outdoor live concert Moonlit Garden Soiree & box dinner or ask for a refund. Both venues ARE wheel chair accessible. Parking at the Sons & Daughters of Italy is free. For the sake of the neighbors we encourage you to refrain from parking lot conversations late at night. There will be munchies included at intermission and a silent auction to support the VSC which is a Colorado non-profit 501 (4) (c). We'd love for you to bring an item to donate for sale and some cash to buy other silent auction items. (Auction items do not have to be Victorian).Have questions about VSC 2021 Victorian Grand Ball? Your family may be asked to leave early, with no refund, if children cross the dance floor instead of walk around the dance floor.   3) The dance mistress will announce when a particular dance is too complex for children and they will need to sit and watch instead of participating.  We welcome families who can adhere to this policy and enjoy having them at the ball.
