SARASOTA, FL — Two Sarasota-based politicians were reelected to leadership positions in the Republican Party of Florida, Florida Politics reported. Sarasota state Sen. Joe Gruters will once again serve as Florida GOP chair, while Sarasota County Commissioner Christian Ziegler was reelected as vice chair, reports said. Their appointments were announced Saturday at the state party's annual meeting at Rosen Single Creek in Orlando. Gruters previously served as the Sarasota GOP chair and also co-chaired Pres. Donald Trump's 2016 campaign in Florida. Ziegler previously served as Sarasota County's Republican State Committeeman in 2012 and 2016, and assisted various campaigns, including U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan's congressional campaigns (2008, 2010, 2012) and Trump's 2016 presidential campaign. Like what you're reading?
