ABOUT THE CLUB: Founded in 1907, the Tokeneke Club is nestled in a private enclave on an idyllic cove in Darien, CT, and features a premier level racquets program, pool, a private beach and Club cabanas, as well as multiple dining outlets, youth programs, and private event venues. CURRENT OPENING: We are currently seeking qualified individuals to serve as Sailing Instructors for our Youth Sailing program. POSITION OVERVIEW: Tokeneke’s junior sailing program is a well-established, reputable and growing program that provides sailing instruction for junior sailors of varying experiences levels, ranging in age from 8 to 13 years old. Tokeneke offers an intensive 6-week program from late June through early August, comprised of on-the-water training with a fleet of Optimists and Pixels, in conjunction with on-land “chalk talk” instruction.  DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Candidates should have great interpersonal skills and be able to teach participants seamanship, sailing theory, and safe boat handling, in a fun, safe, and educational environment. Successful candidates should have a genuine passion for sailing and instruction, and experience working with junior sailors of all ages and skill levels. CERTIFICATIONS: The required certifications for this position include a minimum of US Sailing Level 1 Small Boat Instructor Certification, Safe Powerboat Handling, CPR, First Aid, and CT Safe Boating license. Additionally, your employment will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a background check. COMPENSATION: Compensation is open and commensurate with candidate qualifications and experience.
