Description
ANNAPOLIS, MD — On Jan. 9, an Annapolis business owner reported a months-old theft to police. The owner said multiple patrons tried to buy lawn equipment with a credit card last October. When the card didn't go through, an employee manually entered the number and let the group leave with the merchandise, an incident report noted.
The Annapolis Police Department added that the shop owner recently realized that the charge never processed, meaning the gear was never paid for. The business, located in the unit block of Hudson Street, lost $4,999 in the unsuccessful transaction, the report concluded.
