MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ — On Wednesday, Middlesex County announced six new vaccine sites are now open in the county. This is in addition to the vaccine mega-site in Edison that opened last Friday. The new sites are: East Brunswick Community Arts CenterMiddlesex County Fire Academy in Sayreville (it was the first site to open in the county; it's been open since the first week of January. However, until today it was only open to police, firefighters and healthcare workers. It is now open to the general public.)Monroe Township Senior CenterThe Heldrich Hotel and Conference Center in New BrunswickMiddlesex County Office of Health Services in PiscatawayMiddlesex County Vocational and Technical School in Perth Amboy You still have to register through the state for all those new sites above: https://covidvaccine.nj.gov/ or here: http://www.middlesexcountynj.g... The sites do not have their own individual sign-up pages. These new sites will be open strictly based on vaccine supply to Middlesex County. For any questions or if you cannot register online, call Middlesex County's Call Center at 732-745-3100. You can only get the vaccine if you are in Category 1a (healthcare workers, police and firefighters) and 1b (people over 65 and those between 16 and 64 with specific medical conditions). The mega-site at the Edison Expo Center opened Friday. It will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and once New Jersey has enough vaccines, that site can administer up to 2,400 vaccines a day, say Middlesex officials. However, vaccine production does not currently match demand.
