CNC II: CNC Carving with V-Carve (3H) Vetric VCarve Software CNC II: CNC Carving with V-Carve (3H) This course is for CNC users learning or interested in learning Vectric VCarve software to create toolpath files for various designs and carve to CNC. Assumes some knowledge of basic CNC operation. Covered Material: · Software required (we will be using Vcarve to design and Universal Gcode Sender (UGS) to send to the machine. We will touch on alternatives / other helpful software with an emphasis on free software). · File creation · Importing images, vectors, and 3D objects into VCarve · Tracing/Editing · Creating toolpaths for efficient carving · Saving files and toolpaths · Sending to the machine · Design considerations · Strengths and weaknesses of the CNC platform Makerspace residents who complete this class can enable the Vcarve Pro trial version on their own computer with a Makerspace license and use it to carve files on the Makerspace x-carve. If you have a mobile computer, with V-carve installed on it (trial version OK) , you might like to bring it along for this class.
