SMITHFIELD, RI — The suspect charged with killing a couple at their Lincoln Home on Thursday has died, according to the Rhode Island Department of Corrections (RIDOC). Timothy McQuesten, 49, was arrested Thursday and charged with the murders of Kimberly and Mark Dupre, said investigators. On Monday evening, McQuesten was found unresponsive inside his cell at the ACI's intake center and was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, WPRI reported. Although the cause of McQuesten's death remains unknown, foul play is not suspected, according to a RIDOC spokesperson. Police say the Dupres were found beaten inside their home at 125 Main St. in Manville on Thursday. Kimberly was found dead and Mark was suffering from serious injuries. He died at at Rhode Island Hospital later that day. McQuesten called 911 later on Thursday, expressing that he was depressed about what happened to the Dupres, said police. McQuesten was taken in for questioning after disclosing information that was not yet made public and detectives found bloody clothes, a crowbar, and a hammer during a search of his home and vehicle. McQuesten knew the Dupres and reached out to them on Wednesday for the first time in several years, said prosecutors. He asked to meet up with Kimberly, but she declined due to COVID-19 concerns. A motive for the murders is unclear and this incident remains under investigation.
