Description

Press release from the Village of Glenview: Jan. 18, 2021 With the state of Illinois launching multiple health care staffing contracts to increase hospital staffing, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) is adjusting its mitigation metrics to reflect the additional staff. With the change, Regions 8 (DuPage and Will counties), 9 (Lake and McHenry counties), 10 (which includes Glenview and suburban Cook County), and 11 (city of Chicago) will move from the most restrictive Tier 3 to Tier 2. Read details here. Indoor dining remains restricted in Tier 2, but some gathering and organizational group recreation activities are eased. Tier 1 was recently modified to allow limited indoor service to resume sooner than previously allowed under the state's regional reopening plan. Under the new rules for Tier 1, restaurants would be able to resume indoor service at 25-percent capacity or 25 people, whichever is less, once they meet the state benchmarks for having restrictions further eased. Region 1 (northwest Illinois) and 6 (east central Illinois) have met the metrics to move to Tier 1, and Regions 3 (west central Illinois) and 5 (southern Illinois) have met the metrics to return to Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan's tiered mitigation measures. Here are how regions stands in the mitigation process. This press release was produced by the Village of Glenview. The views expressed are the author's own.
