STRONGSVILLE, OH — Strongsville is one of the safest cities in America, according to a new analysis by MoneyGeek. The personal finance website looked at looked at 989 cities across the U.S. for its study. The firm looked at crime statistics reported to the FBI and created a crime per 100,000 residents ratio. To qualify for the list, a city had to have at least 30,000 residents. Strongsville ranked No. 34 on the list. MoneyGeek said the city had a violent crime rate of 40.2 and determined the cost of crime per capita was $103. The firm said the median cost of crime per capita was $500. The three highest rated Northeast Ohio cities, in terms of safety, were North Ridgeville (No. 16), North Olmsted (No. 24) and Brunswick (No. 29.). The safest Ohio city was Mason (No. 13), a suburb of Cincinnati. The safest city in America was deemed to be Franklin, Massachusetts.
