Blue heeler

We are rehoming a blue heeler, she is about a year old. She is very protective, but warms up to people after 15-20 minutes, we cannot figure out why she is afraid of people. We found her and took her in, but because she is protective she need to go to a home with someone willing to work with her. She is very responsive to training and very smart. We taught her commands, sit, spin, lay down, wait and jump. She is a fast learner but are rehoming because we are afraid that she might bite our daughter out of fear. She does like children but I would recommend a home with older children because she can be fearful. She gets along with our cat but if you have one she might chase it at first.
