LITTLETON, CO — A firefighter rescued a dog Friday after it fell through the ice into a Littleton pond. South Metro Fire Rescue was called to Sterne Park after the dog had run out onto the ice and fallen through into frigid water. "This adventurous pup was tired and trapped," the rescue group said in a tweet. "People on shore did the right thing by staying off the ice and calling 911. If the ice isn't solid enough to hold a dog, then it's definitely not safe for a human, officials said.
