Come enjoy a rare opportunity to experience the magic of the South’s most impressive population of synchronous “snappy sync” fireflies!
We are offering two different ways to come see the incredible snappy sync fireflies along the Natchez Trace Parkway in 2021!
The Snappy Sync Soiree will be a special evening on Thursday, May 13 for the true firefly enthusiast. Guests on Thursday night are invited to enjoy light refreshments and music in the Mississippi Craft Center from 7:30-8:15 and then bring chairs and blankets out to the snappy sync viewing area to watch the dazzling firefly display. Mississippi Master Naturalist volunteers will be on hand to provide information about snappy syncs and the many other firefly species visible along the Natchez Trace. Guests are welcome to stay as late as 10pm. Tickets for this special night are $20 per person.
Our Snappy Sync Tours are available for three nights, May 14-16. Guests will enjoy a 20-minute guided firefly tour near the historic Old Trace led by a Mississippi Master Naturalist. Witnessing the beautiful display of thousands of twinkling fireflies flashing together among the pines and hardwoods inspires incredible awe for the simple wonders that surround us every day.
We will be observing all local, state, and federal health and safety guidelines, including social distancing and mask requirements. Please wear bug spray, bring a flashlight, and park at the Mississippi Craft Center. You will be directed to the check-in table for more information on how to spot snappy syncs!
Family friendly. No pets please. You must have a ticket to attend.
