Hey, my name is Don and I am offering lessons on how to build your own band. (I'm a producer) We've all seen the endless ads where they think that posting 20 times will somehow help. Then once you are in a band, it becomes impossible to organize everyone. Once you herd the damn cats, they don't want to learn songs. After following them around for 6 months, they can finally play voodoo child all together. But then you try to find a gig and the twice removed aunt has the dentist and they cancel at the last minute. Finally, after taking care of them and all their frickin' family members you go into the studio to record AND THEY DON'T EVEN PRACTICE FOR IT I understand your frustration. I'm here to tell you theres a better way. I'm not offering steroids for your project or a get rich quick scheme. I'm here to show you what's important and what's not, and mostly when the right time to do it. The right note at the wrong time is the wrong note. So it is with creating a band. You must find people that share your vision and put the band before themselves, an easier said than done task. So what can I specifically do for you? I am familiar with finding the right members for your project. I've got quite a few contacts for all styles of music and if they aren't who you are looking for, I can cast a wide net looking for someone that will work with you. Need a practice spot that gives you the ability to jam how you would play a show? I've got a good handle on the best ones in the area. I can offer your band critiques on their live performances (trust me, it helps when it comes from someone else) Forget about music store employees trying to pad their bottom line, I know where to find the best gear for you at cost over the internet to improve your sound. Don't get me started on recording! That's my specialty. I can easily help you create a demo to attract the right musicians to play alongside you. I know where to go when you are ready to play a gig, and I'm always willing to put a good word in to get you in the door, if you're at that level. But the main thing is, that most people forget, I know how to make it all fun. Sure it's alot of work, but it's worth it. To recap, I can give lessons, production tips, help you book shows, record both at a home level and professionally, introduce you to important people, and show you the right steps at the right time. I can't promise you success, but I can at least give you a shot.
