Join Jeana and Akilah as we bird the Central Park Reservoir to see the wintering waterfowl of Manhattan's largest fresh water body.
Duck. Duck. Goose! Winter time is one of the best times to see waterbirds as they forage, hunt, and survive on the remaining unfrozen ponds and lakes.
This event is very limited in capacity due to COVID-19. Masks are required and binoculars are not available to share. The exact meeting place will be emailed the day before the event.
Jeana Fucello (she/her) works for Food Network by day, and birds also by day, but earlier. She is the Treasurer of the Feminist Bird Club, and leads walks for new birders in Central Park. She works hard to pass on her deep appreciation for birds and nature through the mediums of song and tears.
Akilah Lewis (she/her) was born and raised in Queens and is the Secretary of the Feminist Bird Club. During her time as an environmental educator, she discovered her passion for birding, teaching, and learning. She enjoys birding in local urban areas and keeping a bird backyard list that rivals some, perhaps.
