Join us for open-to-the-public beach cleanups with Surfrider Newport Beach and the Newport Beach Farmer's Market on 3rd Sundays! We have guidelines and precautions for compliance with safety measures due to COVID-19 and we are grateful for the support and collaboration with City of Newport Beach so that we can return to hosting these public events. Thank you for your interest and your patience as we navigate our way back to cleaner beaches together! There are inherent risks involved when participating in in-person and public events, including risks associated with COVID-19. Participation in a cleanup is voluntary and solely at a participant’s own risk, including risk of exposure, infection, and illness from COVID-19. Individuals should only participate to the extent that they are healthy and can comply with physical distancing and applicable federal, state, and local rules and restrictions.​ We do require a waiver to be signed before you participate! Please follow the local ordinances of your home city, as well.Please review and be prepared to agree to participate according to the guidelines set forth here: https://newportbeach.surfrider.org/programs/solo-beach-cleanups/ What to bring: MASK REQUIRED for safety briefing and introduction. Reusable water bottle, sunscreen, hat/sunglasses, closed toe shoes highly recommended, clothing appropriate for weather day of. You may bring your own gloves if you wish. We will start with a short orientation to the beach and the type of trash you'll come across, and we will ask you to collect data on your trash collected by the end of the event. What we provide: Buckets, bags, gloves (gardening cloth or disposable), trash grabbers, hand sanitizer. Sign ups are required! This event will have limited capacity.
