BOULDER, CO — Colorado's Safer Main Streets Program has announced three transportation projects in Boulder worth $4.8 million. The Colorado Department of Transportation partnered with the Denver Regional Council of Governments to select the projects, which aim to improve safety and accessibility in the city. The three applications were chosen for funding based on their qualifications to improve safety and accessibility, transportation officials said. The upgrades will include changes to sidewalks, crossings, pedestrian safety, lighting and technology. While a timeline for each project has not yet been announced, the majority of projects will be completed by June 2024, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
