Concord Investigators Seek Witnesses After Warren Street Shooting

CONCORD, NH — Concord police investigators are asking for members of the public who may have been on Warren Street on Saturday to come forward as part of their investigation into a fatal shooting at the Firehouse Block Apartment complex. According to the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office, police are investigating a disturbance that led to a fatal shooting on the fourth floor of the building, located at 46 Warren St., at around 11:30 a.m. "Shortly thereafter, the caller reported hearing gunshots," said Kate Giaquinto, the director of communications for the department. "Upon arrival, police discovered one adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. This male received medical treatment but was pronounced dead at the scene." According to police dispatch, witnesses, and scanner chatter, a possible intruder was attempting to bang down the door of an apartment before the gunshots were heard. An autopsy is being performed Sunday. "No further information is expected to be released until the autopsy is completed," she added. "The name of (the) adult male is being withheld pending notification to next-of-kin." Based on facts known at this time, there is no evidence to suggest that there is a threat to the public, she said. Police are asking anyone around the apartment complex between 7:30 and 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, who might have information related to the incident, to call police at 603-225-8600 or the Concord Regional Crimeline at 603-226-3100.
