Press release from the City of Evanston: The City of Evanston will be lighting up the sky in all nine wards on Tuesday, January 19 to commemorate Evanston lives lost to COVID-19, in coordination with the lighting ceremony taking place in Washington D.C. on the same day. Between 4:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., a light truck will park at different park locations throughout Evanston and display a solemn, peaceful column of light into the sky for approximately 20 minutes at each stop. Residents are encouraged to participate in a moment of silence during the light beam display.
