The City of Evanston will be lighting up the sky in all nine wards on Tuesday, January 19 to commemorate Evanston lives lost to COVID-19, in coordination with the lighting ceremony taking place in Washington D.C. on the same day.
Between 4:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., a light truck will park at different park locations throughout Evanston and display a solemn, peaceful column of light into the sky for approximately 20 minutes at each stop.
Residents are encouraged to participate in a moment of silence during the light beam display.

4:30 p.m. to 4:50 p.m. - James Park, 2200 Oakton Ave., Ward 8
5 p.m. to 5:20 p.m. - Kamen Park, 1100-1118 South Blvd., Ward 9
5:30 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. - Larimer Park, 1013-1081 Crain St., Ward 4
6 p.m. to 6:20 p.m. - Clark Square Park, 801 Sheridan Rd., Ward 3
6:30 p.m. to 6:50 p.m. - Dawes Park, 1700 Sheridan Rd., Ward 1
7 p.m. to 7:20 p.m. - Mason Park, 1600 Florence Ave., Ward 2
7:30 p.m. to 7:50 p.m. - Foster Park, 1647 Foster St., Ward 5
8 p.m. to 8:20 p.m. - Leahy Park, 1024 Lincoln St., Ward 7
8:30 p.m. to 8:50 p.m. - Lovelace Park, 2700 Gross Point Rd., Ward 6
