The DePaul Blue Demons beat Georgetown Saturday. It was the first away game in a stretch that will see DePaul play six of seven games on the road, with the only home game being against UConn. The Blue Demons led for virtually all of the game, allowing the Hoyas only 24 seconds on top. DePaul's biggest lead was 28 points. DePaul led 27-10 after one quarter, 47-27 at half and 63-41 after three, before sailing to the 24 point victory. DePaul scored 32 points off of turnovers, while Georgetown managed only 6. DePaul also led in second chance points (16-12) and fast break points (13-8). Georgetown held the edge in points in the paint (24-18) and bench points (27-16). Sonya Morris paced the Demons with 26 points. Lexi Held added 15 and Darrione Rogers put in 10, while grabbing eight rebounds. Other Blue Demons on the scoreboad included Dee Bekelja (9), Deja Church (7), Jorie Allen (5), Kayla Caudle (3), Kiara Dallmann (2) and Nadage Jean (1). Church also had an incredible six steals. Morris was the story of the game though. Going 9-13 from the field, the only thing that really stopped her was foul trouble. She finished the game with five fouls. Kelsey Ransom led the Hoyas with 13 points. Taylor Baur grabbed a game high 14 rebounds. The win brought DePaul's record to 8-3, 5-1 in Big East Conference play. DePaul has won three in a row and seven of its last eight. Their next game is Thursday at Butler, followed by a game at Providence, before returning home to host UConn, in a huge matchup. Thursday's game will be shown on the Big East Digital Network/FloSports.
