WHAT IS CACAO? Theobroma Cacao, translating to "Food of the Gods" by the Mayans, is chocolate in its purest form. It contains all the minerals and nutrients needed to support life and has been referred to as medicine by many communities indigenous to MesoAmerica. Its use was reserved for rituals and ceremonies. To this day, it is used as a tool to deepen meditation. We have the honor to share this ceremonial cacao which is ethically grown along the Pacific coastline in Ecuador, giving it a light floral flavor profile. It is made using the same heirloom strains used 5,000 years ago. * Please note, this is unsweetened, vegan (no dairy or dairy substitute added) raw medicinal cacao. WHAT IS SOUND MEDITATION? Specific musical instruments played during the meditation allow participants to use sound as a therapeutic tool to disconnect from the mind chatter and enter into a transcendental state. The goal is to allow participants to disengage from their undesirable habitual patterns and to empower positive change of self. There are many other benefits including deep relaxation of the body, quieting of the mind, and an overall state of tranquility. Most of the instruments I use are overtone-emitting instruments such as gongs, singing bowls, flutes, etc. These instruments have been used in meditation and sound healing for centuries in many cultures and continue to be used today. PREPARATION FOR CEREMONY, RECOMMENDATIONS:- To increase your sensitivity and openness, please limit your caffeine intake for the day. He is also a 200hr Registered Yoga Teacher since 2016 and a matcha and cacao enthusiast. He is dedicated to facilitating safe spaces where we have the opportunity to unwind from the on-goings of the world, calm the 'monkey mind,' and deeply listen to our inner most desires. When he is not hosting sound meditations or yoga sessions, you can find him playing music with friends, holding space for tea and cacao ceremonies, spending time in nature, and reading philosophical books!
