KANSAS CITY, MO — Time ran out on Cinderella's playoff run. After a storybook victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Cleveland Browns rolled into Kansas City with a wave of momentum behind them. And while the game looked lost early, after the Chiefs' star quarterback Patrick Mahomes II went out with a concussion, the Browns led a furious comeback. After two touchdowns, Cleveland drew the score to 22-17. But time simply ran out. With minutes left in the game, Cleveland punted on fourth down. The Browns never got the ball back. Kansas City converted a fourth down and inches to successfully run the clock out. Still, the Browns have nothing to be ashamed of. After an offseason of doubts and speculation, Cleveland ran off an 11-5 record. Then they beat Pittsburgh in the Wild Card round, putting the cherry atop a magical season.
